Thank you Russell. We are determined to make this work. I think that is key. For instance... about 3 days ago, we had an engine light come on and we had two very heavy loads back to back in the hills of Oregon. My gut (through the process of elimination) was that it was a fuel issue. So that is what I noted, but that was just a guess. I'm not a mechanic. By the time we got to the repair shop, we were inching down the road at 7 mph. But we made it! AND we saved the company about $500 in towing by inching up the road rather than calling a tow. It was only a couple miles. I just couldn't see paying that. Well, the bottom line. DETERMINATION and ATTITUDE. That is key. When the truck is down, you are not making money and for some, that would be a deal breaker, but we planned for this, because breaking down is just inevitable.
We got the call. Truck is good to go. And it was, you guessed it... "a fuel issue"
...until next time...

So how did you both do on your upgrade from training? It was funny, Ron tapped a curb and failed, but passed the second go round. I still rib him about it, since I passed the first time. But I guess that balances us out now, since he got 100% on his PTI in school and I only got a 99%. Wish you well. -
We passed from training...I saw your post on upgrades after 6 months automatically in the system. Is that correct, or do you have to physically take another road and backing test for ugrading from ST2?
-
Did you both pass the first go round in training? Did either of you have to retest? -
We passed from training, upgraded to ST2. We've been on our own since the first of December.
-
could you tell me how long the upgrade takes

I would recommend reading DoubleYellow's post. It is a great overview of the process and more!

Thanks hawkeye15! We really appreciate the repower.
Boy, moving at 7 mph, we just were not making the miles. LOL!
We were glad the repair only took a couple days. It was good meeting you. And thanks again! -
"Orange" Just to expound...
We upgraded with our trainer in November and remember you both well. Very articulate and intelligent couple!
Have you spoke to Bo since then? I know Dennis enjoyed putting in his backing pointers to your wife. (Oh goodness, I don't think I worded that right!)
As for us, Ron and I hit the ground running as a husband/wife Team the day before Thanksgiving.
And regarding the other upgrade...
The following was according to the Safety Specialist we spoke to:
From the date we started running as a team, at the completion of our 90 days, neither Ron or myself were eligible to upgrade (referring to upgrading to go Solo) At 90 days, part of the requirements to upgrade was that you could not have any unsafe driving violations. This was the case for both of us. I called to verify and was informed that the 2nd upgrade was designed for those who wish to go solo, and not really designed for married couples. So with each of us each having an unsafe moving violation (I'll post on the specifics of that later), we would not have been eligible even if we had been from a surveymonkey team match.
In summary, the upgrade did not apply to us. But the rules on upgrades may have changed, so I would recommend whether monkey matched or married team to clarify with Safety or your appointed dispatch manager.
