what is the typical speed that you travel on lease roads? and how long is a lease road usually? just trying to figure out how much slow driving you are doing on typical load. thanks

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

your speed on a lease road is 20 to 30 mph.some batteries or tank are just off the road,i been over 10 miles off a road to batteries to empty them.most roads are kept up just a few are real bad.
pathfinder1361 Thanks this. -
SOT answered it best...some roads aren't too bad, others, you wonder how the hell yer gonna make it through. Here's just a few pics of what you'll likely deal with in our area:

thanks thirsty great pics! i guess your not doing any u-turns out there!
are you provided good directions on how to get to these places, or do guys get lost sometimes? -
Not many opportunities for Uturns, ya just continue on to the next wellsite and turn around there, or wait to get into an open area with enough room. Typically you get directions, and a map of the lease area, but despite these, you can, and do get lost from time to time, but usually not for too long.pathfinder1361 and starsonwindow Thank this.

hey thirsty,i had to take the company pick up and have your room mate to fellow me to a battery last week, because he was clueless how to read a map.
-
I can read a map well enough, but I'm sure there'll be more than a few times where I'll need a chase truck also.
-
I just hate driving at night looking for a battery to empty, when you have to open and close gates, because of the rattle snakes, black bears, mountain loins, bobcats and some of those very weird ranchers and also the wet backs.
There was a driver that was attack by a bobcat at a battery one time.

wow! didnt think of all those possibilities! i was gonna ask what was the worst thing you have heard of happening on the lease roads. (after i saw those pics) . looks like you roll the truck over pretty easy in some of those places. do very many drivers out there carry a gun?
-
Very good information, Thanks.
