My brother works for them. So far so good, he just started but I would like to know more too. What I've seen is, he is running pretty steady.....Good. They pay 80% of the load......Good. They don't charge rent for the trailer.....Good. Other then that I don't know any more then you.

i was also curious about them. i see them all the time on i-5 and i love there new t700's

I've seen them down in Swan Island in Portland but don't know anything about them.

i've talked to some drivers over the years. Mostly western states, happy drivers
hope that helps -
I think they are all o/o's, and mostly west coast, but not a hundred percent sure. They are out of Portland, and have an office in Vancouver, Wa.

Any company your going to find has Pro's And con's. I see the pros above my posting. So all focus on the cons. I personally don't work for them But I know about 15 of their employee's. I know 3 months ago they had 10 employees quit due to how they were treated. 90% of their company is O/O. NO down time. 80% of their trailers are either always breaking down or shut down by DOT. Most drivers experience a lot of down time for trailer repairs. from 1 to 2 days. Have heard from a couple drivers dispatch has been forced on them. Heard some unpleasant things about their youngest dispatcher. He plays computer games most of the time, and ends up making people sit waiting for a reload from 1 to 5 days. ( I have personally witness this) you can not fire your dispatcher for another. They do not have loads out of New Mexico, Montana, North Dakota at the moment (the state that I know of as now). I've heard drivers had to pay for trailer tires that wasn't their fault due to bad springs or flat spots. Due to their mechanic not properly doing his job and red tagging and fixing wrote up trailers. Heard a few drivers upset over all the down time, between mechanical to stupidity of dispatcher error. they are not able to make enough miles and end up with a 0 to 50 dollar settlement. after lumpier expense, trailer refer fuel, tires (if bolt or found to be your fault driver pays for tires).
Lot of drivers either get loads from the owner and do pretty good, or they talk to the load planners to go around certain dispatchers. Don't expect to get a lot of home time. Heard drivers ask for 2 days off after being out for 30 plus days. They get home and 4 hrs. later get dispatched out to leave immediately. (Which does help to keep truck rolling to make money, But not a lot of home time).
I've also witness drivers having to dead head from 500 up to 1500 miles for a reload. Doesn't help as your paying for the fuel. Most of the time for a 1500 load. A lot of dead head miles.
I know every company has their own pros and cons. As with drivers ( No offense to anyone). I do know some drivers run hard at Gulick and barely make it by. As others don't want to drive the miles. I was only informing anyone of the cons I have heard or witnessed from Gulick drivers. I have also meet a few drivers that seem pretty happy. Most of them already owned their truck and weren't making lease payments. -
Thanks for your insight. After some thought, and some soul searching I believe I would have to agree with your final statement. If I were to dive into this type of venture I would do it only if I owned, not paying for or leasing, but owned my own truck out right. For some that would seem to be out of reach, but if you want something enough, and your both patient and determined. It will come to pass. Thanks again D.G. you confirmed for me what my gut was telling me.

As for Gulick their dot is 212390 lok them up on fmcsa. Drivers need to use this tool also since you know the companies are.
