Hello everyone my name is Smith I'am new to this forum, I just moved here to lawrenceville, GA last week Saturday the 28th. Before I was in Orlando, Fl and I use to work as a taxi driver for Mears Transportation since 2010 until now I quit and moved to Lawrenceville, GA and try to get into Prime Inc Refrigerated Division. I have 2 brothers that are truckers, one started back in 2000 and now is now a Owner/Operator at Stevens Transport. The other one started in 2002 first with Stevens and then went to J.B. Hunt in 2007 and quit in 2008, and will be back again next month and is scheduled for orientation for CRST on May 6. I wanted to get my CDL, and after researching through everything I see that Prime Inc is the company I'am interested in and is the only company I see that I want to get into badly. So yesterday Sunday I applied and called in today and they told me that my application was not accepted and I ask the recruiter why, she told me that they have more qualified people at this time. I really want to get into the program they have but I dont know why my application was not accepted. I dont know if its because I'am not in their hiring area. My driving record is clean, I've been driving since 1994, never got a ticket, never got into any accidents. My record is clean to, never been convicted or got into any kind of trouble. Also I already got my physical done and the doctor says im good no problems. When I was in Orlando last week I studied the manual and had obtained my CDL permit. I'am 47 years old and have a wife and only 3 sons, their ages are 22, 20, 16. Home time wouldent be a problem, I can stay out for a month and it will be okay with the family. Can someone please help me, or tell my why I was not accepted and what can I do to change it, or give me an advice on what should i do because right now I'am currently unemployed, and I really need to get started quickly, I think Prime Inc is the right choice for me and if theres any drivers out there that can help me please do thank you.

Rumor is they are throttling back hiring and being more selective. Give it a few months and try again.

Prime can't be in a hiring free for all forever... These thing come and go and has happened a couple times in the four years I've been here.

Why not have your brother train you. Stevens has a school

    smith570 Thanks this.

I will apply again and see in the next 3 months. Prime Inc is the only company I think thats best fit for me, and also think there are more benefits and other advantages that Prime Inc have that no other company provide. Their training is longer and better and I think I would learn better if I go to Prime then a trucking school like Stevens. Stevens Transport is an excellent company, their training is one of the best out there from what I read and from what my brother told me. But I prefer to go with Prime because of better pay scale and more mileage and for the training they have. If later I get accepted I plan to stay with them and only them. Thanks for all the replies and advices

Cant comment on Stevens training, but Primes is good. Went through the entire program.

I read a lot through this forum about Prime Inc and see that many drivers are happy they are with Prime. There are more positive experiences than negative. In the first week of school, do Prime just put their students on a simulator and make them head out with a instructor and learn everything with their instructor? Pretrip Inspection, Shifting, and backing and everything else?

They have pretrip classes to do. Most things however are learned out on the road.
