Have a 96 N14 that does this but at lower RPMs. After letting off throttle and coming to a stop sometimes it will sound like someone is turning the key on and off, very randomly , very rapidly. Just had a cutout test done as it had an injector go bad, overhead was ran then too. Our pedal and harness sit in bad conditions (farm, manure, mud, etc). Sound like that could be the culprit?
Didnt mean to hijack, but didnt want to start a nearly identical thread.
Thanks. -
Hey, My N-14 is doing the same thing. I bought a used engine, installed and it ran fine. It started pushing water out the overflow tube, took it in they did head gaskets. Ever since it has done the hunting at 950 rpm. With the cruise switches and with the pedal. its booked in at cummins next friday.
