You are the man! Sometimes you have to twist those broker's arms to get them to respond.

I wouldn't haul for them except my company is 100% d/h with them, and "usually" assign the loads to where the driver might arrive the day FOLLOWING the night the load was loaded. So for us, Cargill (Dodge and others) is not so bad to deal with.

If you knew all the things that have to come together and work together to get a meat load into a trailer and inspected (with multiple stops no less) at these mega meat producers, you'd wonder how you EVER got loaded. I think, all-in-all, they typically do a reasonably good job, even with live-loads, considering.

Cargill isn't that bad. I don't know why anyone parked there anyway.(ever get stuck trying to pull out if the bt parking at shift change( it's a zoo). I should have just opens the door and yelled us border patrol or immigration. Then there wouldn't have 500 people crossing in front of my trk and couldn't get out till shift change was over. Lol

I do not doubt what you are saying one bit. Every O/O with his own authority needs to be an expert on the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC). In this case Sec. 7-303 of the UCC covers you. Sec. 7-307 spells out the Lien of Carrier which says the carrier has a lien on the goods in the trailer until you deliver and up until that point you can do anything you want with the product if they do not comply with the contract. Personally I would have sold the beef to the nearest buyer for cash, you are a very nice and understanding person I guess. When that load is on your trailer you own it if they do not comply with the terms of the contract. More people need to be aware of this and use the law to their advantage. I know I have many times.
