So I've been running through the practice exams on TT, and was wondering if anyone else here has done the same, and wanted your opinions on how comparable it is to the actual written test. I know that a lot of the info is based from the Illinois state manual but as far as general info is it accurate and to date? I've gone through the first 3 modules with a 97% rating, 7 halts, which were from first starting I kept running into trickily worded questions, that if I had slowed down to fully read, I would not have missed. Also, is the actual written test under a time limit, and if doing the testing through Prime, what sort of test environment is it? Are you allowed asking questions and such? Appreciate any replies, good miles and safe travels to my soon to be new brothers and sisters out there on the asphalt ocean.

The tests are done at the campus inn by the dot. Not too bad, I passed easily.

Multiple guess - you get three tries doncha?
Heck, I managed to get Colorado's hazmat test the first try last summer!

Word of advice, take the time to get your permit BEFORE you go to Prime. It will make your life that much easier while you are there.

Unfortunately I don't have the money to or the time now before I need to leave, I had to sell what I could to come up with the 150$ I have to have upfront at prime, I am almost through the practice tests now, and still carrying a 96% overall, and I have the Mo CDL Booklet on both my laptop and my phone, so I can study even while I am on the bus there.

Sounds good. I got my permit there also. I "studied" whenever I could for it. Passed first try.

Well part of it was my fault, I was under the impression that the 150$ I could have docked from pay, and when they told me that I had to have it up front I about had a cow, luckily I had enough stuff to sell off to get it done, I had left my job on the 28th to make sure I had enough time to study and do the practice tests, and time to pack and clean and such before I leave, and so that I could be mentally and emotionally prepared for this new start. I know it's on another thread here, but it really surprises me how negative people get over stuff they're not paying for, and as far as bed bugs go, it really should be a habit of anyone going to a hotel/motel to check for them before getting in the bunk. And doubly so for a place that is getting people from all over, and only there for the 1 week, and am sure that some are not the cleanest individuals to begin with. As for the attitudes, it's not worth it taking it personally, like I've seen on here time and time again, it's only temporary, and sometimes you just have to suck it up to get through the rough spots to come out the other side to be where you want to be. ~steps down from soapbox~

Ya. People will complain about anything. This life isnt for everyone. It sucks sometimes, more so others. It can be great though. Going all over the country, seeing places youve only heard about. Some places youve never heard of, but are amazing. New Jersey not being one of them...
Just got to let some stuff roll off your back. Its life....
