hey Ice Cube...my best advice...put your uniforms in your truck when you get it....now that I don't play army anymore I don't have to worry...but when i did...Roehl would get me home, but sometimes I would make it just in time for first formation, then have to shower and shave...... I would suggest if your Armory is in an area like mine (I was in an Aviation unit so we had a drill area as it was on an old navy base) take your truck to drill...then have someone take you to your car..just food for thought...

Looks like I'll be meeting my trainer tomorrow AM in J-ville. Sounds like an easy going guy after talking on the phone with him. Said he has 15 years experience training. Should be able to ask about anything and learn a good bit.
-
Thats good advice. I was thinking about that. last time i went to drill was trying to scout some places where i could drop the trailer and just park the truck at the drill center. It will take some time but i will figure it out. After drill did you have time to go home or did you have to leave right out? My drill center is about an hour and a half from my house.

I chose to leave out...cause Jax is only where I play army for the most part...wife and kiddos live in WI......
Just make sure Roehl doesn't count Army Time as hometime...cause it isn't.....and most times on monday they couldn't get me a load right out anyway..cause the planner leaves early saturday..and i think has sunday off...so it takes a bit monday after you call in to get you out...
How big is your motor pool.....I bet if you ask nice the mechanics will let you park in the motor pool as long as your out of the way..... (might be even worth a shot for hometime parking) I would suggest asking the full timers....that is if your in good with them... -

Woot! Yesterday I spotted Mike in Jacksonville, getting ready to leave. Now I hear Captain Caffeine is on the loose as well! Good luck, guys, enjoy the training. How bad do ya want it?

So, how goes it? About like you expected?

2265 miles down...some mountain hauling, lots of highway, some truckstop parking, lather, rinse, repeat...groovy. Trainer is really, really good...supportive, not demeaning, but definitely demanding.
So far my experience is 100% what the brochure and recruiter promised...Cooper09 Thanks this.
