Sorry Tommy I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but no matter how many excuses that's ur husband's truck therefore he is responsible for that ticket. Which he can pay at that particular state's DOT website or take to it to court if he doesn't agree with it. As far as it's the student's fault, the student is his responsibility and making sure thar the load is DOT legal. As far as the company making him haul it with that being his truck he could have refused to haul it being overweight and the either CR England would have the shipper re-work the load so that it could be hauled legally and if it couldn't be re-worked then CR England would refuse to haul it. An overweight ticket goes against CR England's CSA score too therefore if they would've been made aware they coulda fixed it. Sounds like the student rolled in there did a D+H rolled out and husband was asleep and the student got popped at the first chicken house he rolled up on. I can't speak to that because I wasn't there. Only 2 things can be done now, Pay or Fight.

Not unless the company self-insures their fleet.
