Regular frac crew member starting out can range anywhere from $800- up depending on experience and what company, where they are located and many more options.
A driver is not a hydraulic lift frac crew position. Frac crew is sand guys, fuel guys, blender tender, chem add, hydration unit, acid & gel operator, line boss and pump controller. In the mid atlantic states normal weekly wages are $800-1200 for no experienced frac hands. I understand in texas they make more money there in that part of the country.
The above is working for Weatherford Fracturing Tech. normal hourly rate non experience is $14hr plus $27 perdieum for the 6 days you spend away from home each week with only having 2 1/2 -3 days off. It was not worth it in my case. I was there for 2 years and was a trainer they did not give me what I was promised when hired. Was promised $18 hourWHO KNOWS Thanks this. -

Good luck messing with Thomas Petroleum out of San Antonio. I tried to get on with them while I was living in NC, they said they were hiring but I needed to be "in the area" before they would hire me as they had been "burned" by some out of state people. So I moved myself to San Antonio and still could not get them to call me back for an interview.
That's ok because I didn't put all my eggs in one basket and got a job within three days of landing in San Antonio. Lesson here- don't focus on just one place, have a few backup plans, and be a little flexible. -
I've heard Sun Coast is really trying to expand their fleet and one of their drivers told me they were looking to hire 100 people. He said they are getting a lot of requests to pump oil from wells. As long as you can pass their road driving test I was told they will take you out of CDL school. Heard they pay $17-$18/ hr to start you out too.
-
Rockdoctor......the wells may be why they are looking for drivers in oil patch areas. Seems they also do some equipment and fleet fueling though?
-
In the Victoria area they are seen at all the sites where you load/unload crude and I'm talking about lots of their trucks. Last night at the Port of Victoria 5 of their trucks were sitting on the road waiting to get in, 2 of their trucks were sitting in the lot in front of the bay where unloading occurs, and 3 of their trucks were in bays unloading.
I heard equipment/fleet fueling was their original business but now these wells are all coming online I hear this is why they are hiring more drivers and buying more equipment. That is where the demand is.
I also heard Schneider is ramping up their business down here and see they have some brand new shiny tankers running crude.
From what I know, either place will take someone right out of CDL school. I have not heard about any other trucking companies other than Sunoco that hires CDL graduates.
