Hello I just came across your thread.Unfortunely they're many truck companies that won't even look at you if u are under 21.I even know of some companies that won't look at you if u r under 23 (insurance purposes)Does your school offer job placement assistance???I know mine did.We had a few guys that were 20 like yourself and the school had local job placement assistance 4 them.

Ya so far all the recruiters say either 21 or 23 you are right about that. One of my instructors said coca cola will hire under 21 but only for 10 or 11/hr. They also said to try Fed Ex which I will.... but since TX is a big state i was thinking there would be some multi-day runs that stay within the borders and so would be avaliable to those my age ... but as of yet have not found one.....

Here in Nevada they allow u 2 go over the road HOWEVER, u can only if u stay within the state. Like u said Texas is a big state.Where in Texas do u live? if you live near any of the big cities (Houston Dallas San Antonio EL Paso) I quit sure that some companies will hire u intrastate meaning never leaving the state of Texas but Texas is a big state so lets say u get hired on with a local company u can take loads to all the mediuam/big cities and still get your miles and still make a good living. When do u turn 21? hopefully it is not 2 far away!!!! anyway good luck 2 ya I sincerely hope u find a company that will take ya

Thank you!! ya so i turn 21 in may the 31st the be exact. and i live pretty close to Houston and Galveston so theres gotta be something around here just got to find it... lol. but thanks for the support =)

Thats my brithday too! lol
But I was born in 84.
Best of luck to ya. -
Probably should try a smaller outfit, keep your record clean, and apply to the company you choose after your 21st birthday.

Since you live close 2 Houson/Galveston area it shouldn't be too hard to find something.Afterall,Houston is the 4th Largest city in the country and Galveston has one of the largest ship yards in the country. They HAVE to get the goods off of these ships and load them up on what??? TRUCKS!!!Like I said before Texas is a large state.Houston is the largest city in the state and the 4th largest in the country.Houston also has one of the top fortune 500 company headquerters in the WORLD!!!AND also as mentioned u can go over the road INTRASTATE!!Let say u find a company that is based out of Houston or Galveston/Beaumont or Texas City, the company and lets say the company HAS to deliver to the other big cities DALLAS/FT. WORTH SAN ANTONIO AMARILLO EL PASO LUBBOCK etc. the only way they can transport goods is by truck.Alot of truck drivers are under the immpresion that if you go over the road ITRASTATE the miles or the percentage of the loads being delivered is not there!!!! WRONG!!!!!!That is NOT the case!! for instance here in Nevada there are some truck drivers that are in the same boat as you meaning under the age of 21HOWEVER, they can stay within the state.I Know I guy I went to school with,There is a Company based out of Las Vegas and he got hooked up taking a dedicated route from Las Vegas to Reno which is a good 500 miles north of Las Vegas!! He gets paid for milage + a percentage of the LOAD!! BIG BUCKS!!! SO THEY ARE OUT THERE GOOD LUCK
