If I do not lease a truck on Monday I'm gonna get another company truck and go back on the road for 4-6 weeks.
Obviously I have more time if I want/need it.
I'm inclined to see if I can find a low mileage Volvo VN780 and take over the balance of it's original lease. -
I'm just some guy who holds a steering wheel for a living but, I'd wait a little longer... Maybe call other terminals and see about that Volvo. What is your quip with the Prostars?
-
Spent 4 days driving one (a Prostar) and just flat didn't like it.
Don't need to call other terminals, they can locate what I'm looking for with a computer. -
i think the prostar day cab is a nice truck for ltl and local, but the otr version is to plain and not set up well for life on the road
-
Yeah I agree about prostars too. I had good mpg's but had a quieter ride in the old Columbia's if u can believe that...lol....I bet those studio's are nice in the KW's...lot's of room.......

The Freightliner Cascadias are quiet compared to the T2000's and Volvos. The bed is bigger than the 670.
My mentor is turning in his '08 T2000 tomorrow in PHX. Non smoker. He has approximately 3 months left on the lease. He is getting out due to a hardship. He is leaving Swift after 5 years. He is going to a company to where he can be home everyday.
He had talked to them about a buy out and they wanted over $50K!!
My question is which is cheapest for parts? F-KW-V? -
I found my 09 670 Volvo to be quietier than either of the 12 Cascadias I've driven. I'd consider a Cascadia IF I can find one with windows in the sleeper (I've seen Swift trucks with them) rather than the pop-out vents. I REALLY like the DD15 Detroit.
That said I'm strongly considering a new T700 KW. I'll look hard at a T660 but already know that I'm partial to to the integrated sleeper such as a T700, Cascadia, or Volvo. Problem is there are no new Volvos or Cascadias at the moment and commiting myself to a used truck I've never seen is a crap shoot I'm probably not willing to take.
I've been watching and there seem to be more Freightliner dealers, followed by KW, Peterbilt, and Volvo bringing up the rear. -
as for parts they are all exspensive but i would bet that freightliner in on the low end of that scale

My 'o7 670 had a death rattle in the dash. The whole thing shook. The dash is held in with plastic. I have heard of the whole dash just falling down.
What's the weight comparison on these things?
