Well the title says it all,
1- If you drive for a company, does the company pay all fuel costs ?
2- Is a tanker easier to haul than a trailer
3- Is a tractor without a trailer harder to handle ?
Thanks.
Wannabe with some stupid questions....

Companies do pay for fuelTanker I would'nt know but will probably find out tomorrow.I just got my tankers endorsement last Fri.A tractor without a trailer is called a bobtail.I don't think it's harder to handle unless its really windy out
-
yes, no, and driving a bobtail can be a bit more of a "rough" ride...
-
yes no and maybe
a delicate touch is required driving a tanker to control syrge of the fluid in the tank
SCHNEIDER has an excellent training course taking you thru all kinds of scenarios located in western pa -
Tankers offer better visibility to the rear.

1. Yes
2. Tankers are trailers. Can you rephrase the question?
3. Depends. They dont brake very well. Actually driving a bobtail is a little like driving on ice. But, with a loaded truck/trailer you are probably hauling close to 80K. Not easily stopped. -
Yes
No
Yes
For those of you who are not sure about bobtail. Try it in an old single axle cab over. You'll have no doubt. -
I drove one of them! MACK MH cabover, daycab, single axle. It was like a cork bobber on a rough lake!

Even an older tandem was rough, like a Transtar II w/ maybe 145" wheelbase...It was perfect at 55 you hit every seam in the highway and felt it as the seat slapped you in the back.
Any big bump and the back was airborne and came back to earth in a different direction than when it left...
Little cabs w/ no sound insulation like driving in a tin can sitting next to a washer full of marbles on spin cycle.
Oh yeah, when bobtail never use the brakes in the rain unless you like doing slo mo donuts on the off ramp! -
1. Some carriers will charge fuel costs for out of route driving or excessive idling .
2. No . They will roll much easier . Unloading or loading may require wearing a full chemical suit and full face respirator .
3. Could be , especially in adverse driving conditions.
