I am moving from socal early next year to west Arkansas. I have been considering getting a class A and looking into truck companies in the FT. Smith area that hire new drivers. USA truck appealed to me at first because they have a terminal in Van Buren, about 1hr. from where I will be moving.I know trucking is a hard life on a family man but I am willing to try it as there are not many job opportunities in the small town I am moving to,Waldron. Also I have a wife and two small children and I want to know the truth from those who have been there if the guaranteed hometime that these companies claim is just a ploy to get you to sign on.Am I making a mistake ? Any advice appreciated.

I realize that it is his decision but, do you think it's wise for him to go flatbeddin for his first drivin job? I would think he would want somethind a little less strenuos until he gets to know the business a little better. Also no company that I know of can give you a guarantee of being home every weekend. Just keep that in mind when your searching around and asking questions.
