Retail for 8 years. Spent two of those in management. Never again.

Also did band gigs and sound tech on the side. Now that I have a local job, I'm getting back into both.

I played online poker professionally my first 6 years out of college. Once the Obama administratiom renegged on his campaign promise to legalize/regulate online poker & the FBI shut down my sites last April, I decided it was time to get out from behind a desk.

Hubby was a manager in a convenient store for 11 years then worked in cable for 2 years before getting his CDL. I was in commercial lending until Hubby talked me into getting my CDL. I don't think i'll ever go back to a desk job again!

    I have been the following:
A cashier, waitress, hairdresser, shift supervisor in restaurant, stay-at-home Mom, Pharmacy Technician, customer service for cable co., customer service in HR/payroll, then this year went to truck driving school, and am trying to get my new career rolling! This is something that I have always wanted to do, but I didn't want to be away from my hubby and kids when they were little, so I chose the other stuff! But, now my kids are grown, and on their own, and I am divorced (10 yrs now), and me and my BF (he has done business mgmt for dog grooming business, was in the navy, and has worked mostly in retail mgmt), are trying to get our driving career off and running!
It takes all kinds doesn't it!?

I was a stay at home mom. We (my husband and I) get a livable wage from fishing license quota in Alaska, but extra money affords us more to live off of and affordable medical coverage for our family, so currently my husband is now the stay at home mom, and I'm off to start my new dream career. Yes, I dreamt of trucking, lol.

Previous to being "just a mom", I have always held driving jobs. Driving is my passion, and I enjoy not being directly under a boss' thumb, so this industry has my name written all over it. I have 3 boys, the youngest being 8, so it's not too hard for me to dedicate a year or so of my life to OTR. Once I do that, I will seek a more local trucking job that will allow me more home time. In the meantime, I look forward to seeing the country.

Finishing up 8 years with the US Air Force. Was a vehicle operator with them. Before that, low end jobs like stocking shelfs at WalMart or working fast food. Looking forward to start trucking
