Yikes! At a $650/ wk payment and 4.5 cpm charge , even if you used their fuel program, you would make about $250 on a 2000 mile week. I'm assuming about .90 cpm.
Yuck. I didn't even call.
Why bother. I know what fuel costs, and they have the payments and cpm charge right there.
Wonder what their fuel surcharge is......?

Aren't these people related to the people who own CRE?
They really perk up when I tell them I've got almost 10 years in. Heehee. I'm getting all kinds of info.CSA 2010 is working, apparently...... -
you are of course correct i wouldnt think of doing this this way with 10 years experience but i dont so we are not both apples i am an orange
-
So far, it looks like a lease operator with one of these places is clearing .25 cpm. Or less.....
-
I'm not bragging in any way about doing this for ten years.
I ended up here the same way as you did.
I was a commercial fisherman for 18 years.
I went under after 9/11. Lost two boats, or rather, couldn't afford to run them anymore. -
.84 per mile plus .45 fuel surcharge.
pete1 Thanks this. -
Well that changes things.Gone is the $900 in fuel charges on that 2000 mile week.
So now were looking better after all the other charges youre looking at a decent check!
If you got 6 mpg or better... -
I'm averaging 7.2 on this trip, last week was 7.8.

Whatever way you learn the lesson, whether its the hard way or the easy way, the objective is to learn the lesson. Lease purchase scams will continue to flourish as long as there are gullible misinformed and desperate drivers, who believe they can do something different to be successful where others failed. The truth of the matter is there is no law against unscrupulous business practice' that prey on naive drivers with poor credit and visions of being o/o's. No laws currently exist that make it illegal to run this scam. Its all perfectly legal. Until legislation is passed that makes it illegal, then it will continue. Should the gullible driver be partly responsible for this parasite industry? Maybe. That depends on who you ask. If a man robs you because you wandered into a bad neighborhood, should you be partly held responsible? There is no dishonor in wanting to be an o/o. Companies who seek out and find unsuspecting drivers, are facilitating this crime. The driver is no more responsible for his demise than the Guy who wandered into the bad neighborhood. To be aware is to be alive. Check around. Ask questions. Never be afraid to ask questions. It doesn't make you any less of a man if you inquire about a lease. Be careful out there. There are predators in every industry. Especially in trucking.

You see by the last post that's the typical company driver attitude for you right there. That's why they get screwed on their lease because they don't really care about their job or the equipment. I am in a least right now and I tell you what I would never go back to being a "company" driver" . I am in controll of what I make and if I fail it's my problem. The funny thing is I see a lot of people winning about not getting paid enough or losing their truck or not being home enough... What did you think you would work a 40 hour week and have your weekends off? I've been in the industry for 21 yrs and I've been threw many leases. It's all the same. Get your numbers right and you will make money
