Probably about $90-100,000. Of course nothing is absolute.
In this lease deal, you're producing the gross for the company, and not making much.more, or sometimes less than a company driver, and working your ### off to do it, and you don't even get all the tax advantages.
It's the new truck,isn't it??
I'd LOVE to drive a big new truck. I can almost smell that new truck smell.mmmmmmmmmmmm!

With a $200,000 annual gross you ought not spend more than $60,000 on fuel and run about 90,000 miles that year or less. Obviously that'll never happen in a lease purchase. And because of the cheap freight haulers leased on with them the company offering lease purchase arrangments is able to artificially cut rates - they don't even clear as much as they really could if they really worked at it with the LP drivers' trucks. But the money they do clear is with a lot less risk and easy already so why would they.. And by cutting rates they are able to expand business, in a perfect world, fortunately lots of disgruntled LP and company drivers could care less about delivery times when they're worn out and tired running for nothing - that's where the carriers who put a value on their reliable service step in and get fair rates.pete1 Thanks this. -
With your figures you would have to have averaged $2.22 per mile for all miles, therefore I think you are full of it!!!!!!!!!

While you may be in control of what you make (don't know your contract) - most of the leases these days put the company, dispatch, planners, brokers in complete control of your income - not you.
You cannot set rates, choose an operating area, choose loads (reject loads at your own risk) ... or pull any competing loads, or trailers.
Just not a viable business plan in most cases. -
that's how they play get all the newbees signed on and the leases signed and then put the screw;s to them so they have stay out and run there fanny off that;s wrong but they do it all the time.

I did a lease purchase with R&R out of Audubon MN for about 3 years. I made a bout as much as the company drivers did, aprox $1000-$1200 a week take home. Ran my arse off but made a living.

What if you like running your arse off?
I didn't sign up for this job thinking it would be a life of leisure. If I'm awake then I want to keep moving. -
PETE 1 posted "If you lease a truck from a company, you are not running a small business".
do you HONESTLY think that all the MEGA carriers ACTUALLY own all their rolling stock

No. Running my arse off was my choise so I agree. Those who wouldn't, didn't last long.

Ours wasn't a mega carrier, and the lease option I was in did have it's advantages for both the driver and the company. The point in my original post was that you can make a descent paycheck in the program if you use your head. At least that was the case when I did it.God Bless America Thanks this.
