I always thought "boomer" came fromn the last sound you heard as a snap binder smacked your chin and turned out the lights.

If I am picking up at a new shipper, I will sometimes ask them how they want it secured. Some do have very specific ways in which they want their product to be secured. I recall one instance where I was planning on securing the product to the trailer, but the shipper wanted it done differently. As it turned out had I secured it as I thought was logical, it could have potentially damaged their product. I won't leave a facility until I feel comfortable with the way my load is secured. However, I will go with the way the shipper wants his product secured unless I think that he could be unsafe to do so. As someone else mentioned, there is usually a reason why a shipper wants his products secured in a specific manner.

Talk about picky there was one a/c unit maker had a booklet on how to tie down their stuff.

I have actually had to sit through a safety film at a couple of pipe manufacturers before they would allow me to load. They give you a card that is good for a year so that you don't need to sit through the film again for that length of time. The film is about where you need to stand while they load as well as how many straps you need for their loads.

Well here is how I wound up doing it.
2 5/16" X in the front
1 3/8 around the back
3 4" straps in the middle

Looks good to me. The only question I have is why did you do a DOT wrap on the rub rails, instead of dropping the hooks through the holes, in the rail, and hooking them into the slots? Just asking.

No real reason other than I chained down first and the holding clips would not slide past chain, so I just warped them around. Could have been done either way

Ok, just wondering. Hard to tell in the pic if there was room for them to pass.

some states req chains on front cross over and back cross over when hauling plates like cal, and a few central states the chain is the best way to go straps will give and you will b in trouble they like to give so have a good day
