Mine is 3 years old. Fan went out once so far.

I used a PC fan as a replacement. Much higher quality = less noise. Plus, you can choose between models for fan speed.

Not bad for a $79 refurb from WalMart.

Even if they only last a year I still think the 12 volt coolers are a good investment. They cost about $150, so if you spread the cost out over 12 months you're looking at less than $15 per month. If you eat two fewer meals out in the month it's paid for itself.

I also stop my Meijers or Walmart one a week or so. That allows me to stock up on fresh food (bread, lunch meat) and some non canned pre cooked stuff. With my Coleman up off the floor frozen foods will stay mostly frozen for up to 3 days.

All told I spend about $400-450 a month in grocery stores on food and 'eat out' about once a week when on the road.

You're talking about a cooler or fridge?

Cooler I have gets down to about 36-40F and the fridge/freezer gets down to -10.

The cooler will drop to 30-40 depending on the temp in the cab.

lesson learned. While I DID get to see some new to me parts of the country , I'll not take THAT route again with this much weight in the box.

Indy to Carlisle on a relay. Stgopped in Obetz last night and went home to MY bed. Back at this morning. Navigo took me away from the Penn Turnpike. I debated before leaving whether or not to take the pike , but curiosity go tthe better of me. 7 hrs 15 to drive 362.9 miles. I70E to I79S to US40E to Pa 43 to US40 again to I68 to I70 and finally on to I81. with 43K in the box. Usually I set eta fairly tight. not this time and I was rtight to give leeway. arrived with 10 minutes to my set eta.

Up and down, rinse repeat. for about 5 hrs. real short 12 and 13% grades and a couple real long 6%.:biggrin_2556:

I'd MUCH rather go THROUGH 4 mountains than go OVER 5 or 6.

I currently have a cooler that works well. I had some old 12 volt fridge thing for a couple months that didn't work for #### before it stopped working.

When it comes to PA and the navigation, ALWAYS double check the route against a map. Those secondary roads are more like fourth and fifth roads in a rig, let alone a heavy one. Can't you tell I've made that same mistake multiple times? :)

I picked up and delivered to same place, twice this past weekend.

26 miles from the interstate. 24 that were 45mph or slower speed limits. Even in the 4 lane.

I was too happy to get out of there.
