i've been to chariton more than a few times with my current company, the bp is a nice place, clean shower rooms, a deli, and a steakhouse which is open only afternoon to evening hours.

You can park right at HyVee when you are waiting to be unloaded but once you are MT you gotta bounce. When you come out of the gate hang a left and go all of the way down and you will run right into the t/s. Don't be terribly surprised if they unload you when you get their either, I always seem to get unloaded when I show up with produce. A little FYI do not follow a GPS if you are going to take IA 14 south from I80 into Chariton, it will route you under a 13' 3" overpass. When you get about 2 miles outside of town keep an eye out on the right and there will be a green sign that says HyVee perishable distribution center and follow the signs from there. Same as Cherokee they are really good people and will take care of you.

Sitting at the J n Omaha probably 30 empty spaces available and a us express driver comes in and decides to blindside back between 2 trucks???Of course it was spot closest to the door. There are some lazy ######## out here.

That's why I am thankful for the lazy tubs of goo out there, just that many more spaces in the party row for this guy! Where were you headed that you're sitting Gretna?

Boy did I have a day yesterday.

On the plus side, I knocked out the safety meeting, got new steers (and new rims!) put on the truck, and got loaded for Kalispell and Milwaukie over the weekend...and Dean fixed my leaky door.

On the minus side, I swung by the hotel to take a shower (more later) then came back to grab a trailer for storm lake and took off, completely forgetting to fuel and DEF before I left. Then I dropped the MT at Tyson and forgot to unhook the bungee from the trailer (after, like, a year of doing it all the time???) and snapped that puppy right off. Then, this morning, I went to grab my hat to cover the rat's nest attached to my scalp and went, "Where's my hat? For that matter, where's my shower bag?" Left it in the company car when I came back from the shower.

What made up for that? I swung by sheldon for fuel and my personal effects this morning at dawn, and the first of the brand new Volvos was sitting in the shop, temporary transit tag in the windshield, plastic still on the seats. I took the liberty of stepping up on the running board, popping the passenger door, and taking a big huff of that new truck smell. Put a smile on my face.

And don't worry, whoever gets that girl, I didn't actually touch anything on the interior, so no need to worry about any cooties that Cupcake can't hose off.
