I like paper as a consumer and I am very picky about what I use for writing. I hate hauling it, because it is very heavy, but I love writing on quality stock. For business cards I like white linen 80#. For business correspondence I like the white linen paper which is about a 24# stock. It has a nice feel and holds ink-jet ink well. For photography I really like the Ilford semi-matte. My daily journal is a sugarcane based paper wire-bound in notebooks that I get at Staples and my non-fiction and fiction is done on Georgia Pacific 24# ink-jet paper. I use a Parker Duofold extra fine point and I like how this paper doesn't allow the ink to bleed since I write very small. I create my own lined paper by using the table tool in Corel Draw set to about 10 lines per inch and the lines are set to 50% grey. Sorry I sidetracked things a bit, but paper is fascinating to me. Did you know our money is totally cloth based?
What type of product do they haul...

I hate scrap paper loads. They ALWAYS try to overload you. Rule I learned the hard way my first week, go to a shipper with at LEAST 75% fuel tanks!!

I've never had a problem with being overloaded or improperly loaded with scrap, but I hate the way they stack the bales two high all the way to the 45-48 foot mark. You can through a couple of straps on the back, but if they bales shift they'll just roll over the straps. The cleanup when empty is a pain.
DrtyDiesel Thanks this. -
yes I did know our money is cloth based...
Paper scrap sucks to clean up after....its almost as bad as trying to clean out a van after picking it up at a walmart DC (I have kicked entire pallets off at walmarts)...ok kidding...but they do suck to clean up after...I haven't had issues of overweight on scrap...they weigh them pretty good so its always close to 44 or 45k... the ones that suck are water loads and dogfood out of Nestle and Purina...Preacher Man Thanks this. -
I picked up a scrap load with my flatbed freightliner once. Was overweight by 400 pounds. Left it alone and dropped at the yard. My chains and tarps weigh that much and I don't think the van guys have those. LOL

I hear that man. I was saying over load, but it was my mistake both times. I went in with 1/4 tanks cuz my fuel stop was after my pickup. So when i filled up then weighed I was at 80,240. BUT, the nearest scale was about 200 miles away and i had an apu so i figure they wouldn't say anything about a 40lbs over weight.
