Morgan Southern needs to be added to the list of unsavory companies to lease on with as an Owner Operator and Lease Operator. Their mileage pay is still .90 cpm. They cut your throat on the fuel surcharge. Other intermodal companies pay 38% Morgan pays no more than 17%. If you use their fuel card they charge you $9.00 to load the card with the amount you think you will use for the week, plus charge you $2.00 every time you use it. They changed it before I left to. Charging you nothing for loading the card with the amount you specify for the week usage, but charging you $5.00 every time you use the card which still could cost the driver up to $25.00 per week, just to use the card for fuel purchase that period. If you lease a truck from them for five years, it could be a piece of junk that could cost you some serious maintenance costs, and if you leave before the lease is complete you get no money returned from escrow. I knew this guy leased a truck from them about three years. He returned the truck to them, went and purchased a truck of his own to lease on and they still charged him lease payments on the truck he was leasing from them. Drivers told him to go somewhere to lease his truck on but he wouldn't listen. Art Fitzgerald manager at the Kansas City terminal is one of the most Crafty, Dastardly, Unscrupulous, individuals in the business. That guy will lie in a NewYork minute to a driver. You'll also starve if you lease on there. They've got no runs to speak of, no customers, he'll wear your truck out hauling those overweight loads for Comtrac Logistics that their drivers won't take. I know the deal. I was leased there for two years and almost lost my truck two consecutive years. Average about fifteen hundred miles or less. There was one lease operator that had paid his truck off, but he owed a lot of money for maintenance so a mechanics lean was applied,so he couldn't get his title. One day he had an accident, running into the rear of a fuel transport vehicle. The cost to fix his truck was fifteen thousand dollars which exceeded the value of his truck so they totaled his truck out and terminated his lease operator agreement. He was the only lease operator that had paid his truck off, in truck payments. He would never had paid the maintenance costs off on that truck. Never the less Morgan Southern will "Bone" you. You'll never get ahead at the Kansas City Terminal with Fitzgerald. Trust in that. Also I'd like to mention this company put incorrect information on my DAC Report claiming I HIT A PARKED CAR WHILE BACKING UP. I did no such thing. I was pulling away from the dock after unloading, the door on my container came unhooked and hit the truck that was next to me unloading. I should have called a Cop to make the true report. If I knew Fitzgerald would lie about the incident I would have gotten a Cop to make the report. Now I'm in the process of disputing the acusation on my DAC Report. I got to submit a statement as instructed by DAC what took place.

My experience with this company was negative from the start, I went here looking to do a lease purchase. I meet with their driver Recruiter ( Cody ) and when I tell you this man is of challenged integrity, please believe me. He told me that I was in luck and that he had a Truck that was available for that program and it had 19 months left on the lease also they had a dedicated run from Atlanta to Charlotte. The truck felt like a auto does when the harmonic balancer is bad and it needed drive tires. The recruiter ( Cody ) told me that that wasn't a problem that Morgan Southern would fix anything that was wrong with the truck within the first 30 Days at no cost to me . I’m thinking , great Deal. So I quit my job and take the position with Morgan. The first day I get the Truck there are no new tires on the Drives, there are recaps. When I go to sign the paperwork it not 19 months like I was told its 30 months. Cody apologizes. I should have known then I was going to be in for a rough ride. My first run two of the recaps blow out on my way to Chicago out of Atlanta. When I get to Mt Eagle the truck want maintain 35 MPH uphill !! this is a 515 hp engine and i was only dragging 17500. The temperature is at 500 and its getting 4.3 mpg.. oh hell no ! so I take the truck back to The terminal let the Recruiter ( Cody ) know and he tell me their is no way I can get another Truck but to take it to Detroit Williams. I Do.. Turns out the truck was leaking in all 6 cylinders the valves were bent and some of the bolts were missing out of the turbo. long story short it needed a complete rebuild. I ended up sitting for a week (Morgan Southern continued to deduct Truck payments) then I was given a rental. Cody assured me that Mr. Morgan was of the highest Integrity and that this was a non issue the Truck had a NTP Warranty. Three weeks later the truck is given the ok to be fix, NTP wouldn't pay for all the repairs. Cody calls me and tells me that because Morgan had to pay for the repairs they were going to put the truck into their fleet and were going to terminate my lease!!! WTF. Im in a Contractual agreement with Morgan Southern and this is a way of taking the truck .So now that the truck is actually worth the money they take the truck back and leave me hanging.. Now they want me to sign a document returning the Truck back to them !!!! I say NOT !!!! See Morgan In Court !!!!!! Don't trust a #### thing Cody Says ! They have no Integrity! NONE ! Jim Morgan does not return my emails or my calls.
