Free, its going EXCELLENTLY. The shiny new ride was just icing on an otherwise great cake. They promised, and then delivered. I admit there WERE a few things that caught me off guard, like no Saturdays at RDTC, but it has all come together very well. The people with the company who I have met and talked to are VERY friendly and helpful. Maintenance manager in Gary went above and beyond to answer my questions and make things right...two thumbs up.

Well week one is in the bag. Had Saturday off but went to the terminal any way to practice pre-trip. Then didn't want to sit in the hotel all day so i cleaned up the truck. did the wheels and the tanks so its not looking like every other dirty training truck lol. Everything has been great so far. From the first day i kind of just "fell into place" with the shifting and turning. Miss a couple shifts down shifting every now and then but other than that its been all smooth. T-lady you said you were only on the road for 9 days before testing out? I thought it was a minimum of 13 days? I don't like to toot my own horn, but if they can test you out when the trainer thinks you are ready I should be able to test out early. But i will be fine if i stay with the trainer a little while longer. Extra experience never hurts. Was going to update more but have bad service around Marshfield with my phone. (Curse you Verizon). But i will update more if you guys would like to keep following me.

It's not just Verizon wioth bad service up there. I have T-Mobile and sometimes the only way I get signal is to stand in the middle of the yard near the fuel island, hoping not to get killed by another driver while I yack at the wife. :biggrin_2556:

I had 3g atnt in marshfield the other day. Anywhere around there no service at all. Certain spots it comes and goes. I get conflicted about new people getting shiney new trucks. At one point having a apu and not all the sensors is a plus. But the smooth ride, maintenance issues, and beat up exterior is the con. Eventhough not all the new trucks have the sensors and all that. Idk just bothers me going from a trainer cascadia to a Columbia crap I don't know which is better new or old now.

Honestly it would be nice to get a new truck, but i would feel more comfortable in an older one. Its already had to bugs worked out of it, for the most part. I wouldn't mind having an apu. There has been nothing but new trucks coming in to Marshfield, guess it all depends on where you test out as to what truck you may get.

The current timeframe is 8-13 days with a trainer. Some depends on when the trainer feels you are ready, some on where you happen to be at the time. I dig the truck so far...but there is a steep learning curve associated with it. I like to think that my hard work and high grades had something to do with my getting this truck. There were other students who were issued older trucks when I got this...who knows?
