As the title says. I have been wanting to get into driving trucks for a few years just never really had the ability to do so or the drive to do so. I'm not looking to do it for the pay check but for the experience and the ability to travel. Have only been to Indian, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia. Indiana and Virginia were both close to the KY boarders.
Saw advertisements and stuff about the full paid school/CDL training with a 1 year contract to Pam International or USA Truck. Went with USA Truck.
A bit nervous about the experience ill be undertaking. Been doing some digging to figure out what I should expect with OTR driving and saw these forums pop up a lot on Google with very helpful advice. And well yea decided to register
Doing my year contract just for the experience and gonna try to get something local with more home time.
Fiance wanting to travel with me was the final push I needed to really move forward with what I was wanting to do. Enough of working these fast food places! Only thing that hires in my area.
But yea hi! theres my intro![]()

Welcome driver, welcome to the world of trucking, exercise patience, humility and don't have a lead foot like some of the drivers in this forum do.
Always watch your back in trucks tops, learn g.o.a.l. And stay away from Laredo, tx -
Eh if anything ill be the one you all cuss out for going too slow. Will be bad enough that the trucks USA Trucks run are governed low...but my paranoia has let me get by with just 2 warning in my 6 years of driving cars and no accidents..and yes just knocked on wood. Would be great if i got in an accident in my 280 mile drive to the school.
Also considering on making a sign to hang on my door at a truck stop that says "im married and have a porno in the sleeper, don't need a lizard" -
sounds like you have common sense, that counts for a lot as you describe things
