I am currently under a 2,700 mile run that I picked on Thursday to Atlanta. Delivers Wednesday, I'm here now, tried to drop early, receiver said no. Tried to get a swap, so far, no go. If I have to do a 34 hr, no biggy. That gives me a fresh 70 so I can head back to Denver to grab another student as my recent one just soloed.

    THIS!
Get there early, and drop early if you can. Worst case sceanrio, you wait until your aapointment time, which you would've had to do anyway. Best case, you get unloaded, and possibly get another load, you wouldn't have otherwise gotten (well, NOT you since you're W11 lol)

H3ll, the W11 guys already don't run W11. They'd rather sit around and complain about running the W11, than actually run it.
***NOT directed at anyone in this thread!***
I was sitting in Brooks after New Years, 20+ Brooks-based W11 drivers all whining and crying about sitting in the yard for a day or two with no loads. DM walks out of the office and asks, "who wants to run to WA after midnight?"
EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM, made up some excuse about why they couldn't do it.
And don't give me the "they knew it was a bad load" crap. If you haven't rolled in 24+hrs, there is NO SUCH THING as a 'bad load'
If they spent half as much time/effort driving as they do complaining/gossipping...

I had an 11 Western guy tell me two weeks ago in Brooks he turned down a load because it required him to drive at night and deliver at 0200. I was like, WTF?

He was probably mad because they wouldn't let him take hometime just because he was having his period! lol

Yeah, I don't get the guys that I see sitting in the brooks lounge EVERY time I go in there. It's just sad really. I run in, scan paperwork and get the heck out. Even if I can only run to Woodburn and stop at Walmart. At least I'm outa Brooks and away from the atmosphere.

All this sentence states is that you said you see guys there EVERY time you go. According to the the (mis)construction of this sentence; at no point do you state, nor even infer, that they were the same guys, 'EVERY' time.

    lol
I guess its just me, that I've never been to brooks long enough to notice people. I have been there twice, once with my trainer and once solo. when I stopped there both times, I ran in to transflow, fuel, and then back on the road to get to a shipper

now, for the night thing... i REALLY don't like driving OVERNIGHT. like doing a night shift, but i know sometimes I have to drive into the night, or really early for a delivery. starting late at night and driving until the morning I know I would pass out lol
