I know some of those construction zones are set up pretty crappy for trucks. MO and ILL zones I have been in have what feel like ruts that toss you pretty good if you aren't ready for them. They are the seams from the "shoulder" that they put in for bypass or driving lanes for shifting traffic.

Doesn't appear to have been the issue though in this case....

That's a sad needless wreck. It doesn't look that severe either. It went from survivable to a fiery disaster. Rodriguez won't drive for a very long time. That's what I say all the time is all it takes is someone to hit you and your world will be turned upside down if you ain't doing everything right.

The truck stops are down the road and it was 5pm. They were probably eating?

That's an old Tucker/ Hirschbach trailer. There's a good possibility I pulled that trailer before.

YA, let's all have no disregard for safety in construction zones. those workers don't need to go home to thier familes.
I'm not above in calling in on a speeding truck in a construction zone. I have had 2 famliy memebrs hurt while working a construction zone, and a close friend killed.
When you see the cones, slow it down. !!!

I work in the construction zones. If your behind a dump truck and the strobe lights are flashing and or four ways are flashing PLEASE get slowed down . We will be slowing down to get off the traveled lane into our work zone. Watch out for the fourwheeler trying to follow us in.

I try to always go the speed limit in work zones. I also always get tailgated, passed and beeotched at by drivers for going the speed limit. I guess those people think "it won't happen to me", or they just don't care.

I struggled on Thursday night coming north on I29 in SD. The speed limit IN the construction zone was 65 mph.

There should be active enforcement in all work zones. At the very least, do as PA does...post well-lit patrol vehicles at the beginning of the zone.

Couple of days ago on the work zone on 71 in OH, some idiot in a car flipped me off after zipping around on my right side. He was P.O.d, I'm sure, because I was in the left lane.

Just like the orange signs requested trucks to be every mile or so.

Idiots. More and more of 'em.

    MNdriver Thanks this.

Man, that's terrible. I've traveled that strip (Terre Haute to Indy & vise versa) many times. I wish they would get the construction on I70 done. It's a mess.

Yes , and the trucks passing and speeding in construction zones belong to the ATA carriers pushing for speed limiters on all trucks because speed kills .
