It's funny how many say the economy getting bad, but everytime I go out I see new business going up every where. Unlike in the 90's when they were closing their doors and moving to Mexico, and we survived still.

LMAO.... I bet I know where this one is coming from ! Good lord the late 80's !!

I-10 east of Houston, TX JB Hunt truck just barely visible, underneath the water. Seems some "student" drove it off the bridge.

Please keep in mind, this was when JB was actually training drivers. And if I remember correctly, it was there for several days.

It's too bad you don't have a picture of that JobHunt Bobber truck, Dancer.
You could add it to your pic collection. Those are cool pictures, btw.

What kind of a run were you on when you had to go through Ute Pass in the middle of the winter? Looks intense.

No, I can't remind you why you're a truck driver. Sorry, man.

I nearly did a spit-take imagining a truck underwater...hahahaha. You might be right....either that or I called you and you told me that....

That's ok, there are still some people who have a "darwin moment" if you will.

Take for example: Earlier this summer, we had just opened up a P&G run in the east, and a driver gets hired and gets on his run...Somewhere in North Carolina, he has a darwin moment and decides that his 50,000 lb truck will zip around a 50,000 TON train. and then they send us pictures of the wreck and ask "WHO HIRED THIS GUY?" Insurance-style pictures of the wreck, the Trailer's toast, the full load of Hand lotion is ALL over the Highway, train tracks, and Lead locomotive, the Tractor is ok, and the Locomotive has a piece of trailer on the nose, and a spider-webbed windshield. and No, In case you wonder, I did not hire said driver. Ironically, the JBHT Truck got plastered by a hot shot intermodal train full of JBHT Trailers.

Now there is an ironic twist...

The only thing more Ironic is if it was hit by a trainload of Schneider vans on piggyback.

Helping grandkid with 8th grade project.
Without disclosing anything personal, anyone know the salary ranges for dispatchers, recruiters, terminal managers. (Add in turnover rates if you know)
    Assuming 2 - 3 years of experience.
    Thanks

    Sure.

A Full-Time JBHT Recruiter makes (depending on choice)

    30k+standard commission on Hires OR
    13k+Advanced Commission on Hires

if the recruiter is good enough, he can go to Flexible Schedule, meaning he can skip out on days and still get paid. as far as I know, there aren't raises in the base salaries of either 30k or 13k.

Turnover here is Astronomical. It's this Hiring Average that they "have" to keep up, despite 1. The recent Hiring Freeze on office people and 2. the fact that we're making the maneuver into more and more intermodal for those long-distance runs that don't have to be there in 2 days or less. They closed more OTR Home Center openings today, this time in Ohio. Some recruiters have moved to different sections of the Office (HR, Fleet Managers, Finance, etc) but most that leave are going to other places.

Other Companies, i'm not sure what they make.

I put my app in today with JB Hunt and I'd like to get on that controlled regional gig. The recruiter told me i could get 2500mi a week which i highy doubt, im actually guessing anywhere from 1500-1800 a week which is fine with me just give me a decent truck is all i ask. I also got my name down for a dedicated local when one opens up here in Ohio. And yes I made this choice. Say all you want about JB Hunt but its all about what u make of it not about what someone else said. And yes im aware of the 1800 numbers on the back of the trailers schneider had the same thing but i didnt have a problem with it over there course now they black them out. Anyways, the thing is every company has the good and bad small companies including, its just how you make it what it is nobody is perfect we all make mistakes. One driver said in another board that Knight kept screwing up his pay so he left, JB left me sitting for 2 days, swift treated me like dirt, knight left me stuck in cali for 5 days, boo hoo its part of trucking, things like this happen when u have a big company and not every human being is perfect. I'm not perfect either as I said the other night my back is messed up and i wasn't sure if I wanted to drive anymore well here i am knocking on JB's door

Knight, you're 27 and you've got back problems already? I hope this JobHunt gig doesn't involve you doing any heavy lifting.

Good luck. I hope it works out for you there.
