Last day of vacation. I'll drop my mom off at the airport in LR tomorrow then go to the yard. My FM said she wants to talk to me before I head to the TWIC office then she'll get me back in my truck. So, It looks like I won't be getting an early start on anything. I'll pack for two weeks out but with next weekend being a holiday weekend, they'll probably get most of us home.

 

I got to the yard in NLR Friday evening & spent 4 hours cleaning out my truck to turn it in. Then got a ride from another driver yesterday morning home. Now to spend 3 weeks off at home. Was suppose to be only 2 weeks starting next week, but my FM decided to give me an extra week so I can finish getting everything ready for the new baby next week.

 

Enjoy your time off. If it's like my weeks vacation has been, it'll be over before you know it.

Just curious...are you turning in your truck because you are getting another one or do you have to turn it in to be used by another driver while on vacation?

 

I was told that since I'll be out for so long that I need to turn it in and that I'll probably get a different one when I get back.

 

The first week included skidded coils and some large filters from a power plant and a load of slinkies. Started off with two eye to the side coils to ft. Smith and then a load of gray bar that went to Chicago and then the skidded coils to mo. And the filters that went to Charlotte and picked up the slinkies in SC going to Ar. For my trainers hometime. Leaving to make the del. And start the week. It was work but I made the right choice. Did good backing , bumped two docks and made the spots in the truckstops successfully so far. Ready for the next week. Ya'll be safe and talk to ya'll later.

is maverick's hiring requirements just as strict for owner op's like they are for co. drivers?
