Man.....talk about some good old memories. The BEST thing was that for the most part, unless you were really showing your butt, the cops left you alone. If you could show him you even had a log book with you he was happy. I can't ever remember being asked to open it.

Funny you should say that. My old Pete had a spring ride Bostrom and the jump seat was an equipment box that we put cover on top of from an old chaise lounge chair. I sort of curled up on that for a short nap when I needed to. No seat belt on that side. I had a lap belt on the driver side but seldom used it. Carrying gas and diesel, I wanted to make sure I could step out rather than riding it down a mountain.Giggles the Original Thanks this. -
1958 H Model single axle Mack with a tag axle. 170 HP Thermodyne and a 5 x 4. Not enough power to pull a soft p***k out of a pail of hot lard.

Now that's funny....I don't care who you are! Reminds me of the old IH DCO I drove. Single axle, no tag. 318 Detroit and a 10 speed. Rode like a square wheeled lumber wagon and like you said....wouldn't pull a sick lot lizard out of bed....Giggles the Original Thanks this. -
