Agreed but I was not mentioning deregulation for that reason, just regarding the lower quality that companies can get away with now that they could not before. I do not believe in regulation and I think the government should keep their noses out of the free market. There is no force more powerful than that of the free market. It is a living breathing thing. Corporations do what they do because the market allows them to. As soon as the market has had enough the market will correct itself and do it much more quickly and harshly than the government ever could. As an example, what will happen if insurance companies get tired of paying all the claims caused by bottom feeder drivers and demand that drivers be of a higher quality or they will not cover them? Market correction in the form of higher wages and better working conditions to attract better quality people. Right now the numbers allow for low quality because the trucking companies pass on those higher premiums to the shipper and to the driver who is willing to work for peanuts. Eventually that will reach a breaking point but until that happens nothing will change.
