Fair warning to the newbs on here. According to my FM, as of yesterday, there are NO trucks or trailers available for drivers. Of course when I was there this past Ftiday, there was about 2 dozen new trucks on the fence. To bad most of them are for the T/C div. and there are no new trailers for them.
-
There are always trucks available just maybe not in NLR.
-
You can have my truck and trailer, take it, please.
-
drivers are quitting all the time, they'll always have trucks somewhere.lonelyswmtrucker Thanks this.

Is it just me or is this "new look" on this forum very plain???? I also noticed while browsing the forum that now a bunch of pop-up ads are coming up constantly. I never had that before. They should have left it the way it was. Just my $.02.
-
As long as you're signed in you shouldnt be seeing a lot of ads, then again Im on a smart phone versus a laptop.
-
The old software was no longer supported so they had to update it. That is the reason for the change.
Flatbedder 1966 Thanks this. -
Sunday-Drove down to Louisville and spent the night at Shelter Dist. The parking lot was a bit of a challenge to figure out. The next morning I saw everyone else having the same issue....lol
Monday-Got unloaded first and then got a load to pick up at AK Steel in Rockport Indiana going to Ak Steel in Zanesville Oh. 97 dh/348 loaded. In my mind I was going to Coshocton Ohio....I could deliver either today or tomorrow so of course I made it over there to deliver the same day. As I was following the directions I could not remember any of it. Well I finally realized that I had never been there before, thus the memory loss....lol.
Got in and got unloaded. On the way I got a call on the cb that I had a flat on my trailer. I only had 13 miles to go at the time so I went on in and made the delivery first. It was not coming apart or anything so I felt ok to drive slowly on it.
Sent in my breakdown macro and the guy from loves tire came out and replaced it.
While I was sitting there, there was a man and a woman screaming at each other. I paid close attention and was saying to myself, just do not start hitting her, or I will have to get involved. They went in separate directions so I was spared that drama.
Spent the night there with no incidents.
Tuesday-Got a load to pick up at Worthington Steel Monroe Ohio and take it to Roanoke VA. 139 dh/372 loaded.
Wednesday. Made my delivery and got a load to pick up at GP Gladys Va. 67 dh/407 loaded.
Thursday. Made my delivery. The directions were wrong, but I was going to get fuel anyway so I asked a guy at the pilot and he told me how to get in there. It was at the Lowes Regional dist center. Largest one I had ever been to. Got my next load which was to pick up at Mittal at Conshohocken Pa and take it to Columbus ohio. 107 dh/450 loaded.
Picked up and had enough time to make it to the Pilot at breezewood. I was happy because I had not had a shower all week...just baby wipes.
Since my appointment was not until 1400 I was going to be able to sleep in. Just laid back in the bunk to relax and awoke at 0030 and decided it was time to go to bed.....lol
Friday....awoke at 0430 since I had fallen asleep so early....so much for sleeping in.
Headed out at 0700. Along the way I got a prepan to pick up in Springfield Oh and deliver in St Joesph Mi.
Got a call telling me that I could deliver early if I could since they wanted to go home early....should have told me that sooner...lol
Got a message on my qualcom asking me if I would be willing to help out for a couple of weeks on the Werhouser account...haulling lumber out of WV into the surrounding areas.
I called and spoke to keith and told him that I would do it for two weeks only..just to help out because I am such a dedicated Company Man....lol...Seriously, I have no desire to haul lumber on a regular basis, but I will help out.
Got unloaded and got the load to pick up at Springfield Oh. The appointment was for 1630 but they had it ready when I got there 1.5 hrs early.
After I loaded and was headed home, I noticed I had a voicemail message. It was from Maverick asking me if I would go to the TA and unlock the door for A temperature control driver who had locked himself out. No truck number. I tried to call him but I got his voicemail. So I drove through the TA and did not see any Maverick truck. I tried to call him two more times and could not get him. So I left him a message and told him I could not find the guy and was leaving.
About 30 minutes later he called me as says, you did not see the guy.? I said no and i could not reach you so I left.
He then tells me it was a TA about 20 miles from where I was....Like I am going to drive 40 miles out of route to unlock a door on a friday when my clock is running out...fat chance.
I did the same thing once and paid for the lock smith to come out and unlock my door. Now I never get out of the truck without a set of keys in my pocket...lesson learned.
So for the week, I delivered 5 loads,(including the one I picked up last week) and picked up 5 loads including the one I am delivering on Tuesday...My paid miles for the week 2740. So you can get good miles with a bunch of short runs, you just have to work a bit harder...All were tarp loads except for the one that I delivered on Monday.
I will be heading out Monday afternoon and spending the night at the receiver. I spoke to them yesterday to confirm that I could come in there on Monday and spend the night...They told me exactly where to park.
There is a chance that the third shift may unload me...which will be sweet!
Remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice so that we can have our freedom!....Memorial Day!sewerman, seadog443 and Flatbedder 1966 Thank this. -
Well another good week 2700 miles. Bounced around Indiana, Kentucky and Michigan. Left out Sunday to deliver Monday made it back home Friday afternoon picked up Friday morning at US steel Detroit going to South Bend Indiana that was nice delivering 38 miles from home. Need to go to Gary to get my truck serviced Tuesday morning.
Have a great holiday weekend, drive safe and enjoy the ride.
