My friend just drove into Gresham Oregon and she takes a side road to avoid a lot of traffic over the Sandy River. She was behind a semi that was carrying big propane bottles or something. Said they were as big as a VW bug, white with black on one side. They looked like torpedo bombs to her.
The driver drove like two miles an hour under the overpass that was 13.3, and the narrow road he was going on was not for trucks. He got out, and she's thinking that he's gonna have to direct traffic. NOPE! He walked away. Let's hope for help!
She's coming back the same way & will update me. Hopefully he was just able to back out of there, that is if he came back.
I don't have any other details.

that sounds like a highway watch call, police first though.
-
That's what I told my friend. I didn't hear any more about it. She told me how dangerous it was trying to go around him, let alone the line of cars behind her. I feel sorry for the guy. If I was there, I would have got out and told him we'd help as best we could. Maybe it all worked out - I didn't see anything in the news.

Explosives under an overpass, I am the only one that smells terrorism here?
-
That was actually my first thought last night.
-
Just makes ya think of how quickly it could have unfolded. When I went to our local news station website and found a
Truck Spills Fuel Oil and the word- investigating- in it, I got kinda white til I knew it wasn't anything like what I was thinking.
So, the Highway Watch Call, what is it exactly? I call the police every time I see something wrong on the highway. Is the HWC for cb'ers?
Right now, in our county, it seems that it is o.k. to drive drunk. UGH!
I can only hope a truck filled with terrorism material won't get down the road far enough to do damage. That is probably far-fetched, huh? -
Terrorists go for big, high-vis targets with mass casualties. Blowing up an overpass will only yield limited results.
The only thing I smell here is overreaction. -
I have to admit, I was thinking like a terrorist. I was on a relaxing cruise going under the Golden Gate Bridge, and I was thinking what a smart move for a terrorist to attack that iconic bridge. That would really mess up the shipping trade also. I'm glad those terrorists have forgotten all about us over her on the west coast.

Take the tinfoil off your head, it was just a leak. BTW I drove past this exact truck.....
