OK I am heading to deBoer on sunday. I went with Werner in July but hated it so I am going to try a smaller company to see how that feels. The one thing that bothers me is the fact that I have a misdemeanor A&B charge in 2001 and I heard that they are REAL picky about criminal checks. I will call the recruiter tommorrow to find out if it will be a problem cuz I'll be darned if I am going to be sent home. I will keep you all posted. If I leave I will log on when my training is done or may have my wife let you all know how progress is going. Be safe out there and hopefully I will see you out there on the road.
Heading to deBoer in WI on sunday the 28th....

Good Luck, I know a guy that I used to bounce with here in Chicago that did some local/regional drop and hook stuff for them between like riverdale, IL and somewhere up in wisconsin...anyway he said it was a great company and I KNOW he had a sheet as well.
BTW my charges are different (felonies) and MUCH older (1994, done with EVERYTHING including probation in June 1996) and I am having one HELL of a time finding a local job and decided to go back on the road and now the OTR companies (the good ones anyway) don't seem to want me either...despite 8 years driving with 0 accidents and 0 tickets, etc I may be hanging it up as far as my cdl is concerned...
My point in saying all this is TO ENCOURAGE ALL OF YOU GUYS/GALS TO MAKE SURE YOU CONTINUE TO KEEP YOUR NOSE(s) clean...a decent job/life/etc sill seems doable with misdy charges on your record, but with felonies you are toast these days...
definitely let us know how it goes with DeBoer...and be sure to be UPFRONT with them, chances are these days they will find your sheet anyway so why lie...then you just look untrustable on both counts. At least if you are straight up with them you know where you stand and are not wasting your time or theirs on something that can't/won't happen.

Oh yeah I was going to be truthful about everything. I know they look it all up.
Sorry to hear about not being able to find a job. Good luck on the search.
Keep in touch we may cross paths one day if you get back out there. -
Definitely...you can never know too many peeps out there on the road...
Let us know how it goes with Deboer...if you need anything or if there is a situation where my buddy can help ya with info or anything...just let me know.
