i had a pete with a factory fridge/freezer in it. I switched companys and now i have my 1000watt inverter hooked up. I have a koolatron thermo electric cooler but they suck. If i put a small dorm fridge in there will a 1000 watt inverter run it and if i shut the truck off for a 10hr break will it run without draining truck battery? Im out of options. Any suggestions would be nice. What are you guys using?

Super-compact, favourably priced entry-level compressor cooler. With performance and handling qualities that will ensure you will enjoy it for years to come.
A flyweight of a compressor cooler with an empty weight of just 11.5 kg, and convenient to transport with the sturdy carrying handle: the new WAECO CoolFreeze CDF-18 offers a full 18-litre capacity for snacks and drinks. This is due to the units optimised inside and outside dimensions and to the compact design of the high-tech compressor.
In terms of performance, the CDF-18 qualifies as a true heavyweight: refrigeration and deep-freezing up to 18°C at minimal energy consumption! -
I wouldn't count on it running for 10 hours without the truck running. If your in it just idle. No one will say anything to you.

I have a regular Emerson dorm fridge. Compressor start is 150 watts and quickly drops to 70 watts where it runs maybe 3-5 minutes every half hour or so. I always shut it down on hometime, but I bet it would run 24 hours without hurting anything. It uses about the same as a TV and I can watch that 8-10 hours before hitting low voltage.
But I'd say you are safe for 10 hours. They don't run constantly.
APU with a 2500 watt inverter is the ultimate setup.
Those 12V coolers scare me. When I first started trucking I had a small one and woke up in the middle of the night choking when the cab filled with smoke. The cooler was a melted glob. I quickly threw it outside. I never owned one since then.
Depending on your truck, cabinet removal is an easy option to make room for a dorm fridge. I wish my laptop didn't crash. I'd show you a picture. I took the door and one side panel off. The fridge fit in perfect and I put the microwave on top of it. About $180 at Target. I've had it 4-5 years now. Great little fridge.
