When I was hauling entertainment the company I worked for occasionally had a Freightliner Argosy, 10 ton with a 30' box, the bunk was short no cabinets but you could stand up no problem, it was a sweet ride, I took it to shows all over north America, it had a cat in it and it ran like a raped ape loaded or empty. I liked it a lot. It would be weet to see these here again I might be interested in one, visability was awesome, up above all the lights, visability in snow from other vehicles was better, I liked it!!!

The guys that complained about how bad cabover used to ride, should remember that, back then, conventionals where not a whole lot better. Spring ride trucks and trailers......a cabover built today would likely ride far better than conventionals did not too long ago. Another comment was "i don't want to be the first one to the accident". Which is a stupid cliche comment, because you aren't supposed to have accidents anyway, and certainly not the head on collisions that cabover drivers like my dad where so scared of. If you have a dreaded head on collision, 6 feet of hood isn't really gonna help much.

If that KW cabover was available here in the states, I'd have one in a minute.

seems to me we will see new cabovers in states soon. Really, truck makers are ready, they have so many sweet cabovers in Europe. IMO, for US market they will offer the biggest cabs. But I may be wrong, becouse Paccar offer DAF LF (smallest DAF) in states. It is with KW logo. They offer LF with the same engines like in Europe. The only difference that allisson is available. Newer seen alisson on this size trucks in EU, but on Mercedes Atego with OM906.

I agree, A head on is a head on is a head on, These things would eject the driver with a parachute strapped to his #####!! Think of it, Have the seat removable with the air bag sensor rather then deploying a airbag the seat becames a parachute!!! That would make the driver a witness to the head on... LOL:biggrin_25520:

my 1976 International cabover with a 160 hp detriot was terrible in every way
my 1980 KW with a 360 hp cat was better
my 1982 KW with a 425 cat was great I didnt care if everything was on the floor when i checked the oil
my 1979 long nose pete with a 600 hp 1271 detriot was actually a lil scary going 100 on the NJTP
my 2011 T700 isnt the prettiest truck going down the road but it is the most comfortable
with the automatic built in fridge flat floor really a lot of room for my 6'5" frame
at 59 i appreciate the comfort with the apu and 2500 watt inverter prewired cb so no wires hanging around

as I understand the reason for paccar to build one more cabover (they have DAF105) is to make truck with bigger then MX engine.

Really DAF 105 is available with Paccar MX only. But no room for C16 ore tall ISX. So truck needs new cab!

I really miss the seating position and big steering wheel in the K100 I used to drive. Great visibilty too. For me it was easy to get in and out of too. But at 6'2" I do NOT miss banging my head on the ceiling at a bad bump, the bouncy ride sitting on top of the steer axle and 156" wheel base, or the 36" bunk and dog house. And I really think a 230" wheelbase tractor with a set back front axle may even turn tighter than that KW did.
