Hello there natives i graduated trucking school in march have my class A no accidents, no criminal record, just two speeding tickets a few years ago.Im scheduled to start for werner next friday but after stumbling upon this site im doubting my decision. I followed the link www.thetruckersreport.com/jobs4newtruckers/which of those would you recommend for a 25 year old with no kids/wife and i want very little home time. Also will the companies in my link that offer schooling take someone other schools certificate? I have my hazmat passport doubles and tanker. I know its all about the initial 6months but i want something other than warnera 26¢ per mile. Thank you kindly for any input.

i would not play any games right at this time and juncture. you have a job lined up, just go, do your time, pay some dues, then look for another job 6 months, to 1 year from now.

I've recently done a lot of research on this and heard nothing but good things about Schneider for a starter company. It wouldn't hurt to check them out.

Having said that you may want to listen to Gizmo Man who I'm sure knows what he's talking about.

the thing is this, he already has a job lined up. if for instance he did not, then he can choose another company. i would not want to play any games right now as i say because he may apply someplace else, but how quickly will they respond, all the while, the clock is ticking on him not driving.

the time to be choosy is BEFORE one gets a job, in which one is already scheduled to go to, like the o/p already has. one should not tempt fate at this point and time.

I was very close to getting on with schnieder untill i realized they did hair testing. That can go back 6 months. Im by no means addicted to anything but there was a time of unprescribed medical usage. Can a hair test trump urine analysis ?

well now, you are scaring me....go with Werner. you may very well indeed be "toast" any place else you apply at from this point on. i think you mislead us at the first posting you made, regarding your past.

    good luck.

While .26 cpm may not sound like a lot, you have to remeber you are still going to have to ride with a trainer for a few weeks before they let you go solo. So you will have to contend with the training pay. If you are having any doubts about the company now is the time, to make the final decision, not 2 weeks after you start with werener cause they will more than likely ding your psp or dac { what ever they use }. Most all of the starter companies are the same, it's going to depend on the FM and dispatcher you get. Being from the area you are in i have heard decent OVERALL things about roehl. {just my opinion for what its worth}.
    Good Luck

but to come back here saying that another company does hair samples and you turned it down, is a direct way of saying you did something some time ago, that you are afraid to have someone find out, and fire you. if you have nothing to worry about, as you are now claiming, why worry then about the hair sample testing???

you are hiding something, again, good luck, you dug your own grave a few minutes ago, not me, when you spoke of hair testing.
