US Trucker looking for job in Canada or US but wanting to live in Canada

    I'm a student about to graduate from a reputable trucking school in Atlantic City New Jersey, I have a girlfriend in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada and am moving there and nothing is stopping me from doing so... My question is, is where can I work for a company in the USA or in Canada that will take me out of school and allow me to live in Canada? I don't care what the starting pay is because I just wanna get my foot in the door in the industry.. If anyone could please help assist me in any way I'd so greatly appreciate it, I don't care if the company is in Canada and I need to get a work visa, I'm really trying here to find a company that will take me.!!! Thank you all in advance!

    Well the quickest way to get a job in Canada is to marry your girlfriend and become a Canadian citizen. If you don't want to do that the next step is to get a work visa. Good luck on that one. Canada has very strict immigration laws. In order to do that you will have to find a company willing to hire you. Which is next to impossible because driving is not one of the skills that they are in short suppy of qualified people for. See in order to get the visa the company has to prove to the government that they can not find a qualified Canadian to fill the position. So your best and fastest route would be to get married. If you want to live and work there.

    But if you move to Canada, you'll have to come all the way back to the US for your health care.

    I know a local company in New Brunswick that would probably hire you right out of school and may be able to help you with a work visa but it's a long ways from New Brunswick to Manitoba and they mostly travel the eastern seaboard.

    There is a huge demand for truckers in eastern Canada right now and most WILL hire you right out of school but, again, that's a long ways from Manitoba. If I can help you in any way, let me know :)
