I hate to be brought into a coop but have found out being courteous and polite does wonders, never ever have to dig for papers or my log book and have everything ready and take it all in with you. It is part of the big dog and pony show, just my way.
Anyone planning to stay home next week?

Krispy Kreme should run a "DOT Blitz Special" for the week....They'd make a killing.....

Goin home Mon. Night! My Logs, and truck are always tight. I like to think I even have a positive attitude with the DOT. But the one thing I usually have an abundance of is Bad Luck. So I won't push it.. LOL
I drive an older 97 pete that needs a paint job and can be a target. So I plan on spending the week re polishing everything on the truck and doing some major interior reorganizing (I stay out 6-7weeks at a time) and then when I get back out, i'm going to run my ### off for 2-3 weeks to get caught back up from the home time, and then the old girl is going into the paint booth for some final freshening up.
OOHHH YeAH!
New Polished alum. and new paint and no DOT!BigBadBill Thanks this. -

Well, today was a bit anticlimactic. Passed 7 or 8 coops in NY, PA and CT, and not a one of them was open. Saw one PA DOT that had a straight dump pulled over, but no inspection that I could see. Another one had what looked like an oil rig crew with their pickups and trailers lined up in a parking lot. And one more that had two Schlumberger oversize loads (frac tanks on skateboards) pulled over on the side of the interstate.

Had a driver tell me OH and IN seemed busy but got waived through. What are other seeing?

Went through NV....AZ.....UT and.....CO today.....Didn't stop once.....
I guess the Krispy Kremes worked......
-
Truck 1 - AL to AL to TN, no inspections reported
Truck 2 - AL to IN, no inspections reported
Truck 3 - NV to CO, no inspections reported
Truck 4 - WA to MT, no inspections reported
Truck 5 - Nowhere to nowhere, no inspections (of course)
So far so good. Hope I didn't speak too soon.

Can't really count AZ on that route. But surprised he UT Super Coop wasn't in full force.

UT is pretty much benign......Now OR...WA....CO.....They like to see your smiling face......
