What pisses me off with the H2S crap is when you get onto a leasse, if you looked real hard you nmight find 6 Scot Packs and 20 guys on the lease all bigger than you. I wouldn't waste my time looking for one, just run upwind instead.

Yup when we have our safety meetings they tell you where the eye wash stations are but not the scott packs. even when they have a air trailer here they don't have the packs or lines close enough so that's all you can do is make a run for it.

Prairie Boy, as an employer do you have any comments or insight into the substance abuse issues that I have heard are so prevalent within the oil & gas industry?

The Scott packs are not for escape they are for re-entry into a known hazardous atmosphere for rescue purposes.
Tie lots of bright colored flagging tape to your ### so that its easy for them to find :)

Hi, great info... thanks to all! I have been reading for a while preparing to head to AB on June 10th to find work. My original plans were to head out with a C3 and to work on my C1. Budget & time have me going out with only my C5 + Air, and my C1 Learners; which hopefully will at least allow me to be trained and show some initiative. I have only a year of hauling small trucks 2-7 ton single axels. I think that I have narrowed it trying to get on with Sanjel, Trican, Schlumberger... and will be dropping into shops in person from AB to MB. I am expecting a bit tougher road without a C3 or C1; but I have a clean abstract, good attitude, and a drug tests will never be a problem. Any input is always appreciated!

I honestly don't. A few years ago we had a Truck Push that was selling the stuff, he was terminated of course.

There was a lot of drinking many years ago but with all the safety and pee tests etc., that got rid of a lot of riff raff,
