Ok so this really chapped my ###...I have been driving line haul for almost two years...back and forth hauling booze to Pasco from Seattle nightly, and last year I got stopped at the Cle Elum scale for an inspection...no worries...the truck is going to fail. This I know. I'm hauling paint, placarded for flammable, I've got a little air leak in the trailer, and still have to come down the pass. I figure I will end up leaving the load and bobtailing in. The DOT cop, one of the nicest I have ever dealt with explained that I was not placarded for poisen which I was carrying six thousand pounds of and was not secured. I am ######## my pants thinking I will be arrested. He only sights me for failure to secure...makes me leave the trailer and I head back in after three hours. I meet my boss at the front door and give him the ticket. I was truly mad. I mean I was to blame for the failure to placard as I should have read the bills more carefully and been prepared but being new and green..well that is what causes accidents right?!
Anyway they say they are going topay the ticket...I get contacted by a collection agency saying it hasn't been paid. I jump on my boss...I watch him pay the collection agency...case closed.
Jump ahead to now...I have a sweet gig lined up doing class A recovery, just need my abstract which I know is fairly clean. BAMM! Suspended for failure to pay citation. WHAT THE ....
SO is this common? Now my old boss is refusing to pay, I can't even drive to the store for a loaf of bread, and the judge is being a real ####### about reenstating my license. All these ###### fees, and my old boss says if I want them to pay I need to go back to my old job hauling booze over the pass. Thoughts? Suggestions?

    File this one under...Lessons learned.

You always follow up with the Jurisdiction of issue, when issued a ticket. Even when your company says they will pay it.

Scan a copy and keep it for all future reference.

Yep, go haul the booze let him pay then jump ship. Serves them right if they were going to pay and did not pay until the pressure was put on them!!
