I started with a company about a month ago, and I was told I would make between $1100-$1300 weekly....well I have yet to break the $500 mark this week I am on pace for $400.. and am beyond frustrated...I am basically doing one load a day then off the rest of the day...I have another job offer but I don't want to jump ship prematurely...so how long do you give a company before you decide that its not for you????

For example when I say one load a day..the loads are pretty close to the terminal so like tomorrow I will work for probably 6 hrs unload the truck myself and only make $50 then I am off for the rest of the day...the home time is great lol but I can't live on the income

Ya I talked to them a couple days ago and they said they would see what they could do...since then I have had 3 loads pulled from me...I don't get it...I have never once turned down a load and have been more then willing to accomodate them anyway I can...and one if the head guys in the office even called me to say that he was very happy I was with them and that I was doing a great job....

Ya, a little lube can go a long way.

Sounds to me like you might want to explore that other option.
I doubt it will be any worse.

every situation and trucking job is different, especially when you deviate away from the typical regional/otr van truckload operation. You don't say just what type of trucking your doing. If you want a "general reply" mine would be wait 3 months and be the best hand you can be and don't gripe. 1100-1300 weeks seems a bit "optimistic" in almost any scenario given the type operation you're eluding to.

You need to send a obc message,so there,s record of it. Then call your driver manager, then his manager. If you don,t like what you here, think about sending a obc message stating a 2 week notice. I,m guessing you work for a dry van co., who do ya work for now ? and who is the next co. Chances are it will be the same. You also have the risk of your current co., giving ya trouble like not reporting to dac or a bogus dac report. Like shipper-receiver trl. damage, if ya have 10 years of excellent work history, a co. won,t care much about a bogus dac report, but 1 yr. exp. your not in a good position. Your current co. could be inbetween contracts right now, but 1,200-1,300 a week that,s not possible anymore, every week year round, even for million mile drivers. It was before 07, ave gross was always 1,275 plus a week, year round. PS you have to state your full name, and date on your quit notice and take a picture of the message, then take pictures of every inch inside and out of the equiptment and a picture of you turning the keys in, VERY IMPORTANT you have to protect yourself from some co.s or they will ruin you.

It could be the dispatcher instead of the company. I'll usually give a company seven months seems to be my magic number. One month is too soon. Like others said, communicate and use the chain of command first.

I'd say that they are living up to there end of the bargain! Course they probably told you 1100-1300 MILES weeklly!!! Not $1100-$1300 weekly.
