Hope everything is going well Alex.
Made my first run out to North Platte yesterday to load at NuStar. All I can say is NE is boring. I followed C out there. Hopefully it's not like Rocky Mount Dupont; we all got carded there, and were pulling loads for about two weeks, then nothing. North Platte is an easy, but long boring, run. Oh, and 293 is still in the shop; they are swapping out the front drive axle housing. LOL, it went in just for that ABS light. But I did go down with G the other day to grab a rental to bring back up while 299 was getting scheduled maint done, but we keep it because the 173 (spare) had an oil leak and I dropped it off at the shop tonight. The rental is a Kenworth, runs on cruse control at 75. -
Hey Erik glad to hear from you! All is going well here and we are now officially 1/3 of the way done with Patrick's treatments. Two down and four to go. It's going as good as can be expected considering the circumstances. It's hard to see him that sick from the chemo. Good thing is that the nausea lasts only a few days and he gets to feeling better again.
293 has been in the shop almost the entire time I've been on leave. LOL! Get that beast fixed so that it's good to go when I get back please. lol Although it would be nice to cruise along at 75. I spoke with our regional about coming back part time, a couple days a week, and we came to the agreement that it would be best to go ahead and just stay on leave. If I come back even for one day a week then it takes me off medical leave and if something were to happen with Patrick then I would have to reapply for leave and all that. It would be a big pain in the butt. Plus they would like to see me fresh when I come back without allot of other stuff on my mind, which is understandable. Good thing is that I've been assured that my job is safe and waiting for me when I return. Corporate approved me for six months leave which puts my return date October 27th or around there. I would like to return before that but chances are slim. That's right around the time that Patrick will be finishing his treatments. I miss driving and working with you guys and I look forward to getting back.
I'm going to be heading over to Suncor in the next few days to swipe in and keep my card active. 90 days of no activity and they lock your card out. I don't want to have to go through all the pain to get a new card so I'll just swing by there and keep it active. -
Jynxx..wish you the best with your son and hope for a speedy recovery...you're right about when you find a company that treats its employees like Gemini has for you...it would take prying a driver out of the seat to leave a company that has some great values it lives by...those co's are hard to come by nowadays especially in this industry where most trucking could care less if you had a sick family member..
Jynxx Thanks this. -
I got to meet one of your drivers out there, Larry. He was a nice guy. I enjoy meeting all of the drivers, everyone I have met from Gemini have been really nice people.Jynxx Thanks this. -
New diff housing for 293 is on the way up from Denver is what FL told me this morning. October...just in time for winter driving LOL.

I think I'm going to apply for the Lodi, Oh location. Seems like gemini is a pretty good company to work for from what Ive read here. Ive been waiting for my 2 years so I can start applying for fuel haulers!! Working a deadend job and being paid straight time is getting old.
