Poor management and the recession are what got Yellow in trouble. Buying Roadway and eliminating the competition was a good decision, just the timing was off. The employees agreed to concessions, how is that sucking the lifeblood out of YRC. YRC has been down but they are not out. YRC and all their divisions are hiring. Explain to me why ABF asked for no concessions from their employees. Could it be good management? You probably weren't even born when all Co's provided their employees with paid health ins. All that has happened over the years is Big Business has used smoke and mirrors to take everything they can away from the American Middle Class and Organized Labor has fought back to protect hard won workers benefits. You certainly were not around when we were on picket lines fighting for better working conditions, wages and benefits. You think those Co's just gave us all that. Guess again!

My brother in law works at the Conway Freight yard in OKC has been there for 12yrs, and he said right now they are needing drivers really BAD, also Conway Freight takes care of the drivers at least the one in OKC does
-
Well your brother in law has it good. After 12 yrs, not too many crap sandwiches to eat. the extraboard guys on the bottom gets the ###### end of con-way depending on what terminal you go to.
-
Does your brother in law have a side business? If this is the guy I'm thinking of he has it GOOD there lol
-
Yeah, I worked at that terminal. It's literally a revolving door there. They can't keep guys.
-
Retaining good employees is not a priority of con dash way. They spend so much money to train guys just to have em leave in a few weeks/months when it gets bad

Most of the Conway yards I've delivered to make their drivers load/unload their trailers. I don't think I would want to load my trailer or trailers, hook them, then drive all night long. Seems a bit tiring to me. I have heard that it isn't that way at all their yards though. Then again maybe it's not as bad as I think. I know for sure that this one little yard in Arkansas they were all rushing around, loading their trailers as fast as they could before the office closed. Then they got to do a line run after that. Seemed kind of bizarre to me.
