I have to agree with audiobooks. They really help keep you awake and pass the time. Only downside to it though, is you can get too caught up in the story and find yourself not paying as much attention to the road as you should. (kinda the same as talking on the phone in a way).
As far as music, if I need a good wake up tune, I throw on some polka music. Always has an upbeat tempo, and it's just a "feel good" music!
edit: I also remember hearing a long time ago on public radio about a study on keeping drivers awake, and they found that the scent of peppermint helped a lot. They had some device that would release a wiff of peppermint when their sensors detected that the driver was getting tired, and it helped to keep the driver alert. Sorry I can't find the source though. It was years ago that I heard it.
