I'm with Knight. Transferring to the Columbus yard and moving to Pittsburgh in July.

Smaggs have you considered switching to dry side as well?

No. If I wasn't about to move from Phoenix, AZ to Pittsburgh, PA (late July) I would either seek out other options or inquire about doing some container loads to the LA ports. I wouldn't mind that sort of gig. Still living in a truck, but home a bit more.

One thing I have figured out. I desperately need to get out of a Volvo. It's ruining my spine. Just got done with extensive massage therapy and chiropractic care earlier today. My chiropractor couldn't believe how hard it was to adjust my thoracic.

If Knight still let company drivers use the Peterbilt 388 and 389, I would definitely switch. I like the simplicity of those trucks. I don't need the insane inside height that volvos offer.

I don't care for the Volvos, either, but the International Prostars are hardly better, IMO. I have never had a truck where it required so much twisting, crab-walking, and just plain contorting to get in and out of the driver's seat!

I like the Volvo, what tractor would you rather have?

388/389 Pete or Cascadia. Knight doesn't have these. They instead buy throwaway trucks that are crappy and brag that they're paid off.

I was a little leery of Volvo's myself but after driving one for a couple of years I don't mind them. They have a great turning radius and decent ride. They are a little small on the inside so I don't think a team would be happy in one but for a single driver they seem ok to me.

I remember the first time I drove one of Knight's Volvo's over that bridge on I-5 North of Sacramento. I thought the dash was gonna come apart.
