After 4 weeks of spotty service with my old provider I decided to go with Verizon, I purchased a Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX with a Sliver blue tooth. I needed something reliable and networking capable.

I have the laptop and printer already so let's see how it works out on the road, last month the cost of stopping for permitted loads and down time was a killer for the most part so having the capability of receiving and sending from anywhere I have service will be very helpful. I will be posting a very honest summary of how the service is and what works or what does not to include any dead zones I find.

Cat D8 and RAGE 18 Thank this.

I purchased the phone for 199.00 but I also got the accessory for mounting the phone and turns it into surround sound via the stereo system. Also the blue tooth so all together it was 405.00 for phone, Bluetooth and mount.

Unlimited cell, text and 8 gigs of hotspot cost around 180.00 per month.

. Verizon does seem to have the best network. Like my IPhone.

AT&T has been good for a couple years, but now that they are updating towers, calls are dropping. Which is irritating. Have two rotary dials, 1400 minute package & a 5gb elevate wifi with them that runs around $120 a month. Want to switch to see the coverage difference, just can't get it in my head to pay $50-$60 more per month...yet.

Get stuck on the side of the road on a Friday morning for several hours because of no ATT signal. Makes the Verizon priceless.

Yes, I have signal with them at both places where I spent 3 hours and 5 hours.

So far just around town I have yet to find a dead zone, my phone is connected to my new printer wifi that will go in the truck, saves over 50.00 per month in permit fax fees and not to mention time it takes to get into a truck stop and get out. Walmart has a Epson NX330 wifi capable printer for 49 dollars on sale. Works with I phones and smart phones if you download the ap from Epson.

I went three days with zero service in the Rockies, now that truly concerned me. Everyone at home was worried something happened, no pay phones so the plan and phone is worth it.

I had ATT way back when for near 20 years, it was the best going for cell phone service. Something happened and they went down hill for some reason, I understand where your logic is but my need to have the best way to communicate made me go to Verizon. If I cannot communicate at all, that may cost me days of delay and money.
