0/o with universal am can

Ya im with a sister company. I dont haul any od but i do alot of brokered loads. I have ran into a few situations when i first came here as in when it was said and done the load wasnt even worth my time. I went back to hauling for the company now to get my fuel money. Still unsure what i will do in the long run.

 

Might Consider Mercer. They don't charge for those fees. I've been with Mercer just under a year and have yet to meet another Unhappy Mercer driver. I average 2.00 mile to the truck and they take care of fuel taxes and get me very large fuel discount. Just wish I had found Mercer 20 years ago.

 

flightline, i agree been there for year and a half now. and i came from mason & dixon one othe universal am/can companies. it is like the difference between night and day. i sure wish i had went with mercer 20 years ago

 

look up sammons in montana i am very happy here and we only do flat,step deck and rgn, and sammons is always here for there o/o period

 

I've been with UACL for 4 1/2 yrs now...was with Pacer before the buyout. It was a change but like all things you have to know how to work the system. I get my own permits thru The Permit Co. Last year my 1099 was $197k on 87k miles. but then, all i do is OD, military, or heavy...and I NEVER take a load under $2.30 to my truck

 

at mercer, the office in louisville gets the permits, the cost of permits is never figured in the drivers pay. you simply call give the route you prefer the day before you p/u the load and they send em. and you deal with the same person every time, you have an assigned permit person, as you have an assigned payroll and settlement clerk, an assigned load coordinator. the rate quoted on mercer 's loadboard is what the truck gets, with no more cost to the 0/0.

 

You forgot one... They pay all tolls on OD loads routed over toll roads.. Just send in your recipts or I pass statement.

 

Make the switch to a good company and you'll wonder why it took you so long.
I also know how costly it can be to change but sounds like it would be worth it in no time.
