Steering pump

    What is bast way to drain (replace) steering oil from Box..
    Is there screw on the box.

    First time here.
    I have volvo 670
    ISx engine

    I place a drain pan under the steering gearbox and loosen the return line at the gearbox with the engine running while adding new fluid. This flushes the gearbox while renewing the fluid.

    I always just opened the reservoir cap to allow air in and pulled the bolt at the bottom of the steering box that is usually on a post. Let the oil drain out then replace the filter in the reservoir. Replace the bolt and refill.

    to replace all oil in PS is possible but no reason) change all you can drain, but no reason to flush
