I am looking to start doing some hot shot driving with my F250 diesel. I have a few questions that i could use answers for.

    1) i plan on using a 25ft gooseneck with a bulkhead on it. Am i required to have headache rack on my truck?

    2) i hope to work for a trucking company here called united vision logistics. Do most companies allow you to use your truck as a personnal truck also?

    Thanks for the help!

You should have asked this in the "HotShot section" you might get more help there.

Better yet, go to Vision, and ask them what they require a Hot shotter to have for vehicles and trailers.

You'll find out real quick that F-250 might work good for now and then, but for everyday use, you'll want a F350 or bigger.

Pick up the phone and get your information from the source. More than likely their not going to lease on that truck to pull a trailer, if you're dead set on using a F-250 you'll need to install a flatbed and only be able to do bobtail (Hot Shot) loads only. The minimum you should be considering is a 1 ton DRW and a gooseneck deck over with a 40' deck (mini float).

What area are you in ???

The above reply is correct. Not enough truck for the load. Also trailer is TOO short. And NO, you arent supposed to use the truck for personel use. Why United Vision? Are you aware that company is a sinking ship?

    Motownfire Thanks this.

You'll tear up that little truck way too fast. My 3500 had all kinds of mods to rearend, tranny, engine, suspension and still wish i had MORE TRUCK most of the time. With a truck and trailer that small your only going to be able to haul at most 5% of the loads.

Im just betting your not going to make it long set up like that......for sure dont invest a lot of money until you get a couple months under your belt!

You can use your own truck for whatever you want.. Just about all the loads I pull now are under thirty foot.
The single wheel maybe a little lite. I made less money looking for 40 foot freight and maximum weight I was plated for.
Heaviest thing I've hauled insix monthes has been 12,000 except once at 13,900 most under 10,000.
My fuel savings and MPG has gone up 25% in last year. I also don't hardly ever go to Tx anymore worst place in world for freight.

This is why I dont like giving advice on these general forums. "you can use your own truck for whatever you want" WRONG, I was with United vision before it was United Vision. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
