Understand that pretty much any training company isn't going to be all roses and teacups. However, if you really want to be a truck driver don't let negativity stop you. Do your research and then choose what seems to you to be the least crappy company that will hire you. Stay with them for a year then move on to a better job.

Ok this thread is turning a lil ugly. Socrates actually has very good points I agree with. If I was in the OP's shoes I'd go with USA also. Staying home isnt going to put food on the table. Some of you need to refrain from posting if all your going to do is bash a newb or put him down.

i believe conway truckload is taking students again ....pay your own overhead while in school and put 1000 toward it .....but no contract after you pull your first load and 26 cpm while training .....at 2800 miles is far over training pay and they cut you loose after 7500 miles
plus if you can stand teaming i thinks its a 44cpm split with the option of applying for local jobs on the freight side after a year

was the way i did it when it was still cfi and did far better than at a training company (and i haven;t worked for them in like 5 yrs)

I'd roll with USA out of the 2. I don't know where you live'but if you're in their hiring area and need to go through a company sponsored school, I personally would look into Millis. I think the total cost is like $500? You'll make more during training, and you'll make more when you're turned loose after training. I honestly have no affiliation whatsoever with them, nor do I know anyone who's driven for them. But I have read an awful lot of good things about them as compared to the 2 choices you've listed. Good luck in whatever choice you make!!!

well ty everyone who can answer a simple questions but sitting at home isnt going to put food on the table when i have a fiance and a 2yr old to support. If i didnt care i would just stay home but i have wanted to be a trucker since i can remember and have been studying the manuals for a long time so i can do this. I am very passionate about this career choice and like my grandfather told me a trucker of 40 years "this is a lifestyle not a career so get prepared for it" so here i am im prepared but i dont have the money to pay for schooling up front and usa and cre want me to start on the 25th of june crst actually just called me 2 days ago so if you have any input on them compared to usa or cre that would also be nice if you have something other then stay home
